Taste of Los Angeles

I'm shamelessly promoting my own life here. Los Angeles is very dry this time of year (think, catastrophic fires-dry). But this is the famous Griffith Park where I frequently go hiking. You can see the Hollywood sign in the top left.

Typically, I find Sears portrait-style photos revolting, but this will always be one of my favorite pictures.



EDIT: Changed it around a bit in Photoshop, I think this one looks a bit better, less grainy with some color in it.

Half of a really big family

This was right before I left to go back home and these were all the people left visiting Grandma. Don't get mad at me if I left out a "t" or replaced an "e" or something. Just let me know and I'll correct it. Michael took this picture on 8/25/09 at 10:38am.

Gulf Coast Sunset

While everyone was hanging out at the pool I snuck off to take this picture. I remember once when I was young, if my memory serves me, that Grampa took Matt, Erika and me to the pier by the house at sunset. While the sun was just over the top of the horizon, he told us to turn around and count to 30. When we turned back to look at the horizon the sun was gone. I'm not sure if the lesson here is to appreciate the beauty or respect the ephemerality of life, so I prefer to do both.
On that occasion I believe I also kicked a tackle box of fishing supplies off the pier and into the Gulf. I still feel terrible about that...
Anyway, that's what I was thinking about that night.

First Pic!

I took this one of Mei Ling at Gram's house on 8/23/09 at 12:07pm, according to my camera. She's so cute! It was instantly my favorite picture. I didn't even have to edit it. If you look in her left lens you can see my reflection taking the picture and the golf course behind me.

Beware of image size! I'm not reducing these in case anyone wants to download them and print them or save them for whatever. Just right click>save as and save the image as whatever you want to your computer. I assume/hope most of you know how to do this.

Hi everyone!

I'm hoping to get this blog address out to our whole family, so any of you who come across it, if you could spread the word because I don't believe I have everyone's email address. In fact I know I don't. So here is the idea, if you don't know how blogs work, first thing you need to do is to enter the 21st century. Then realize that this is a place that we can add photos of family stuff, scan report cards or talk about what you did on a vacation. Whatever you want! Just tell me if you want to contribute and I will make you an administrator and you can edit and make new posts. It's VERY easy! I can't stress this enough. So don't be afraid. And if no one wants to contribute then that's fine, too. I'll just keep adding stuff myself as I find it and send the link out to everyone. So don't be afraid to comment or tell me what you think. I'd love for everyone to take part in this, at least by viewing it. :-)

I'll go ahead and start us off with a few photos I took over this last weekend in the next couple posts. I'll try to say who took the photos, where they are, who's in them, etc etc etc.
